I have decided that we should start a group discussion. So lets talk about role playing.

My answers:

1) I started role playing because of a childhood friend. I grew attached to having different personas.

2) I have actively been part of rpg sites like this for probably five or six sites. I consider active being there for more than a month with posts often.

3) I like to vary my character qualities but I often have similar characters.

4) I am always posting my character responses in correspondence to my current mood. So they tend to be fairly happy and kind. Teehee

5) I have been role playing since I was twelve or thirteen.

6) I like both types. I just use this style more often. Easier I guess.

7) I am inspired by books or tv shows. Nerdy I know. But they are so wonderful and I just love the fantasy in them. So I try to bring it to my characters so that they can inspire me later. It tends to work.

1) What made you start role playing?
Hmm... Well I have also been sort of a book nerd, I love to read, especially fantasies. After writing a few short stories of my own I found friends on a website called horse isle who liked to role play. After getting into that on there, i ventured out into the world of the internet and found various sites that i thought i should join.
2) About how many sites have you been an active role player at?
Well I don't have the time to do to much role playing, so i really just stick to this site and the odd time of role playing on horse isle, sadly, my RP friends have started to dwindle.
3) What decides the quality of your characters?
I am one to create characters off of who i would have wanted to been that day, often kind and sweet-natured, but sometimes I add twists, making them mysterious, shy, crazy, mad, doomed, lonely, scared, or and sometimes mean. I don't like to have mean characters since I never want my person to be hated.
4) Do you often find yourself leaving the personality that you gave a character originally for your current self personality?
I usually don't tend to role-play when I'm in a bad mood cause I just don't feel like doing so, but when i do role-play, my personality often rubs off onto my character.
5) How long have you been role playing?
I started last year (age 13), so not that long, so I'm still developing a feel for it.
6) Do you prefer text role playing or MMORPGs?
I prefer text cause then you character is even more how you imagine it, but I am a gamer and I like to play MMORPGs Haha.
7) What inspires you when you role play?
Like sassy, I find that books, especially fiction inspired me to role-play. I love to imagine things and create my own fantasy worlds. through role-play, i can achieve that.

Yuki, I love your answers. And you know, I would never guess that you are so new to role play. You are so good at it. And for all who may laugh at us role players, I must say that this has given me a wider vocabulary and a better hand at writing papers.
