Moon Shadow leaped once, she was right between the two male horses. She was getting nervous, and she leaped again. She was trying to get away from the close horses. She was stretched out as best she could be. She was attempting to pull away from the other two horses, not to win, but to get away. She was breathing hard, all 3 of the leaders were. They all sped up as the big stallion moved up on them. Saf didn't have control of her horse anymore, so she just let her go. She grasped the bit hard between her teeth. She was in control.

Sam felt Amazon giving him his all, but yet they couldn't pull ahead, and luckily they didn't fall behind. As time seemed to slow as it always did as Sam was about to finish a race, he felt all the moments of his horse as the gelding strained to hold steady and not falter. It was pretty easy for any of the leaders to break their pace and go into a canter, thus being disqualified. The line was thin between to two gaits for Amazon now, and all Sam could do was to hope he wouldn't break that line, since he couldn't slow down, that would just cost him the race.

Safania felt Moon Shadow draw in short heavy breaths. Her nostrils were flared, her coat sweaty, and she was still nervous. She seemed to be on the line of breaking her pace, and falling back, but Moon wouldn't give up. She kept going, even though she was going to be too tired to walk after the wire swept by. Saf felt her black tail cutting into her face. Her face was probably bloody, or it was just sweaty. She felt something slowly drip down her face from her left cheek. She couldn't breath, she was so happy Moon wouldn't loose. She would get 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place definitely. She was trying hard for first though.

Sam felt Amazon pushing the limit. He struggled for the reins and pulled him back, better to get 2nd or 3rd then DQed. The pair fell a stride behind and they passed the line, still at a very fast speed, but not at 'OMG close to canter, i'm going to be DQed pace.' The slowed down every stride till they were at a walk and heading off to the stable area to get untacked and bathed.

Safania was surprised when the white gelding fell back. She looked forward just as they passed the finish wire. She smiled a wide smile. 2nd or 3rd place! She slowed Moon down, and tapped her right hip lightly. Moon rose her head high, and looked at the crowd. Saf knew Moon knew she won this race, even if she only got 2nd. Saf and Moon were hoping for 1st.
(OOC: Does Moon and Saf have to stay on the track for results or something because it was such a close race?)

Saf stopped Moon shadow in the middle of the track, waiting for the results. It had looked like a tie. Moon Shadow was a little smaller than the stallion, but no one knew what the results were. She stood there, still as a statue. Waiting.
