Twilight walked through the ravine. He knew it would be harsh during the winter, and food would would be almost impossible to find. It offered protection. It would be easy to fight off the few predators around. Predators wouldn't be a problem at all, because he was slow and a bit short, but he was extremely fast and was skilled at finding food and water. He reared up, lashing out his forelegs and whinnied a shrill long whinny. He landed, and pawed the ground. He marked his territory, then set off for the lonely pastures to claim mares and start his herd.

Twilight looked at his mares. "Shall we travel to the lake, or go to the lonely pastures to try and expand the herd?" He reached down a grabbed a mouthful of grass as he waited for a response.

Sunny nodded her head in agreement to anything. Her mind barely on the idea of growing herds or finer feeding. Her mind floated as she watched Twilight and Ice talk. She heard the words but registering them was difficult for her. When the words did make themselves apparent in her brain, She nodded more vigorously.

Twilight thought for a moment. I think the lake is claimed. We could try The farmstead, maybe. There's a few other territories still available. Twi though some more. It's a bit late for foals too.

Twilight nodded. A slight breeze ruffled his mane. We should leave now. I think- Twi was cut off as he heard a growl. He whipped around, bellowing aggressively. He saw the pack of wolves that had hunted them the day before. They were standing at the cliffs leading into the Ravine. Run, now! He herded his mares out of the ravine, and turned around to face the wolves. They weren't chasing after them. Twi reared up, kicking out his legs. GET OUTTA HERE!!! Twi squealed.

The wolves stayed where they were. They didn't move away or come any closer. Twi turned and caught up with his mares. I think the wolves own a territory near the ravine. Luckily there not hunting right now. Let's go to the abandoned farm. I don't think its been claimed.. Twi began to walk quickly in the direction of the farm.

Ice followed him out of breath. She limped quietly after him to the farm. She moved her ears back and forward and looked back every once and awhile to see if the wolves were coming. I hate how they are just standing there, it's creeping me out. She moved closer to Twilight for comfort. How much longer? She looked up to the sky and the sun was right above them.

Twilight looked around. They were in the range. We should be there quite soon. Twi scented the air. No wolves. He looked back, but all he saw was grass.

(OOC: Are you wanting to have Twilight reclaim the Farmstead?)

Sunny moved in a hurried hush. Her eyes were wide and her ears flicked at every sound. She carried her head so that her neck made a straight line with her back. Sunny walked behind Twilight and Ice. Though she was very close to their hindquarters, she had accepted and respected her rank below them.

(OOC Yes please! The farmstead would be a better place for the herd.)

Twilight saw the barbed wire fence and the old barn. He ducked his head between his legs in a stretch. He took a bite of the grass. It was sweet. He then went and walked catiously over to the barn. He stuck his head in slowly, and nudged the door open fully. A bit of light filtered in through the wall. The wall appeared to be clear in one place. Twi cocked his head. Light flooded in from a crack on the roof. Twi stepped in. He cocked his ear and scented the air. He walked fully in, and began to investigate. It was a strange place. There was small little rooms. He thought a bit. Stalls, they were called. His mom told him. On the stalls were sliding pieces of metal and doors. He mouthed the metal a bit. It slid back and forth. He walked into one of the stalls. There were about 8 stalls. Twi looked at the walls. The one to his right would lead to another stall. The one to his left led to another stall. To his right, the wall was rotting. He kneed it with his foreleg. He turned around, and began to kick out. The wall gave away and crumpled. Twi turned around satisfied, then stuck his head out of the barn. Come on in ladies!

Sunny sniffed the barbed wire cautiously, her ears curious of sounds in the farmstead. She jumped the fence and trotted to the faded barn and looked into where Twilight stood. It was strange and foreboding to her. Sunny looked up at the cracked roof and then to the mysterious enclosurements. She could faintly smell other horses in the place and rodents. The rodents smelled much stronger and probably still inhabited the building. Sunny took cautious steps into the strange thing. She whiffed the ground and looked into every crack that was visible to her. She lifted her head and looked at Twilight and Ice. "So odd," she said, awe filling her voice, "So very odd."

(OOC: That's fine with me. BTW, would we be able to have foals in the barn during the winter months?)

Twilight nodded. He looked at the strange pellets. He sniffed them cautiously. Slowly he took a bite. He nuzzled the bag again, then reared up startled as a rat jumped out. Twi whinnied and stomped it repeatedly until it was flatten into the ground. Twi stared at it for a minute. He then pushed some hay on it.

(OOC: I suppose that would be possible. It would be warm within the straw. =D)

Sunny eyed the pellets warily. She was not wanting a rat to be in the food she ate. She looked at the spot on the floor where Twilight had killed the rat. She snorted and moved closer to the bag. Sunny stretched her neck so that she could sniff the pellets. The scent was alluring and she could not resist. Sunny took a quick, careful bite. Before she chewed the pellers, Sunny moved away from the bag. She chewed slowly, wanting to savour the taste. "Yum," she said.
